About Gong cha

In 1996, a man named Wu opened a premium tea shop in Taiwan. Wu worked hard to develop his tea blends, testing everything countless times to perfect his recipes and ensure he could guarantee the quality. In 2006, Wu established Gong cha in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The new tea brand inherited the quality and commitment of the original shop, but with the new commitment to serve tea fit for a king, literally β€” Gong cha refers to the act of offering tea to the emperor as a form of tribute in ancient China. The brand name represents Wu’s philosophy that tea served at Gong cha will be made with the highest craftsmanship and the knowledge of a tea master. 6/15/26 at 7PM I stopped by Gong Cha on W Lake Lansing for the first time. I talked to two employees about what drinks were decaffeinated and I was told that the oolong and earl grey tea and the thai tea does not contain any caffeine. The caucasian employee had to ask her coworker about their decaffeinated drinks. I questioned the Asian girl back that the thai tea contains black tea leaves though, but she was very sure of herself that it does not contain caffeine. Maybe she should remove her airpods in order to better serve her customers. I ended up ordering two oolong, one earl grey and a taro tea. I thought maybe Gong Cha carried some special decaffeinated oolong and earl grey tea. I regretted putting my trust into the two employees and their knowledge of their menu should be reviewed. We experienced the side effects of caffeine when we did not want to for the night and the next day. I had to call in the other Lansing location on E Grand River to ask verify if the oolong and earl grey tea contain caffeine or not and they were positive that they both do. So I called this location and told them about the situation and I wanted to talk to the manager. Manager never called me at n

Let me start off by saying my Tea was 5 stars. I am in between 3 stars and 4 stars because their prices were so high compared to others. I got a large brown sugar milk tea and had to add .75 cents for tapioca. My total was over $7 in my opinion too much. The establishment is cute and modern. They have coffee too. They are running a special on $3 iced teas. The bubble waffle looked yummy.

I found POWDER!!!! In my milk tea . I was peacefully enjoying my day then i look and see gong cha and I feel like usually alot of people talk about gong cha so I decided to try it out and I get my usual (taro milk tea). Okay we wait about 5-6 minutes average time because I order 2 drinks one for me and one for my dad but we get out that place cuz were hyped for boba and TELL ME WHY I go to take a sip and im like "Oh! Something tastes off let me mix it more" i mix it more just to see powder chunks float up to the top no matter how much I mixed it had tasted bad. Not to mention the powder was blue???? I am happy to see Gong Cha finally make its way to East Lansing! The atmosphere is great, and their wifi speeds are fantastic. The boba is very on par with the rest of the places around town, but their seating area is perfect for studying or a cute afternoon date.

Had the strawberry milk bubble tea and the winter melon milk bubble tea, they were not bad; but I didn’t really taste the tea even with the sugar and ice reduced. I would definitely come back to try other drinks on the menu! Really like the atmosphere of the place and the staff members were super nice and friendly. Plenty of parking available.
